The European project CESAM (Circular Economy and Sustainable solutions for Agri-food in the Mediterranean) was presented to institutional partners and companies from the regions of Occitània, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands during the Alimentaria fair (18, 19, 20, 21 March in Barcelona).
The Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean, lead partner of the project, has been in charge of presenting the milestones and next steps of the circular economy project in the agri-food sector at the stand of one of the partners, ACCIÓ, the Agency for Enterprise Competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
After the presentation, a face-to-face networking event took place as part of the CESAM project. The event was aimed at SMEs and research centres working in the agri-food sector in the regions of Occitania, the Balearic Islands and Catalonia in order to promote collaboration for the development of solutions that can access the cascade funding offered by CESAM.
In addition, also within the framework of the European project, ACCIÓ organised an Open Innovation Challenge on 19 and 20 March, at its stand at the Alimentaria fair. This challenge consisted of B2B meetings scheduled between corporations with technologies or solution providers, from the agri-food, water recycling, packaging, recovery of by-products, waste reduction and other related sectors.
