The CESAM partners have launched a funding call aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Occitanie (France), Catalonia, and the Balearic Islands (Spain). With a total budget of €900,000 and a 100% funding rate, this initiative supports innovation-driven projects that advance technologies from TRL6 to TRL9, bringing them closer to market. Open from November 19, 2024 (2:00 PM) to February 19, 2025 (5:00 PM), the call invites applications exclusively via a dedicated platform. Each SME may submit up to two proposals, with total funding per SME capped at €60,000.
Applicants must choose between two participation schemes:
- Open Innovation Projects (Lines O1–O4)
- Identified Challenges Projects (Lines C1–C10)
Projects must be designed for a maximum implementation period of 12 months, concluding no later than May 31, 2026. Final project timelines will be formalized in a grant agreement between the SME(s) and the Euroregion. This is a unique opportunity for SMEs to accelerate the commercialization of innovative solutions with full financial support in a cross-border collaborative framework.
On which topics?
CESAM is primarily oriented towards the strategic sectors shared across the three regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3s), with the goal of funding sustainable and innovative solutions for the circular economy. In this sense, the topics are Industrial water treatment and recycling, Packaging eco-conception and Optimisation of processes: waste reduction or valorisation of co-products.

- Individual Open Innovation Projects (Only 1 SME): max. 30.000€ funding
- Regional Open Innovation Projects (At least 2 SMEs from 1 region): max. 50.000€ funding
- Interregional Open Innovation Projects (At least 2 SMEs from diferent regions): max. 70.000€ funding
