On 2 July, the venue La Cité in Toulouse will host the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Sustainable in Agri-Food Innovation Day, the final event of CESAM (Circular Economy and Sustainable Agri-Food in the Mediterranean). This initiative aims to foster innovation and support the transition towards more sustainable and circular agri-food models across the Pyrenees–Mediterranean area.
The event will bring together institutional representatives, innovation ecosystem stakeholders, and members of the European Commission, with the aim of presenting the project’s results, reviewing the activities carried out, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration and funding in the field of agri-food innovation.
The programme will feature a full schedule of conferences, debates, presentations, and networking sessions. These will include discussions on the sustainable future of agri-food within the context of the European Union, innovative solutions, and best practices from Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and Occitania; a presentation on EU funding opportunities for SMEs by EISMEA; a round table on how to foster interregional innovation, sharing experiences from the I3 programme and the CESAM project; pitch sessions showcasing 16 agri-food projects developed by SMEs supported by the project; an awards ceremony recognising outstanding initiatives; and networking spaces designed to connect companies, institutions, and sector stakeholders.
Participation in the event is limited and requires prior registration.
The CESAM project
The CESAM (Circular Economy and Sustainable Agri-Food in the Mediterranean) project promotes the transition towards a more sustainable, efficient, and circular agri-food model in the Mediterranean area. Co-funded by the European Union, it brings together nine partners from Occitania, Catalonia, and the Balearic Islands, including the Fundació Bit, alongside organisations such as the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion, ACCIÓ, Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation, and AD’OCC.
CESAM fosters collaboration between regions and companies to develop solutions in circular economy, sustainability, and digitalisation, with a particular impact on the network of small and medium-sized agri-food enterprises in the Balearic Islands.
