  • by

The CESAM project has actively participated in the international event CARB 2026 & AD’OCC Secondment Programme, held on 14 and 15 April in Toulouse (France), strengthening its position within the European bioeconomy ecosystem and fostering new opportunities for interregional collaboration.

On 14 April, the fifth edition of the Bioeconomy Business Conference & Matchmaking (CARB) took place at La Cité, bringing together experts, companies and institutions to discuss the challenges and opportunities of a multifaceted bioeconomy. The event included sessions focused on biomass circularity, biotechnologies and the development of territorial value chains, as well as networking spaces and business meetings.

In this context, CESAM was present in the session “The Bioeconomy Seen from Abroad”, where international perspectives on the sector were addressed. In particular, the participation of the Balearic Islands stood out, represented by Cristina Graham, Project Manager at BIOIB (Biotechnology and Biomedicine Cluster of the Balearic Islands), who shared regional initiatives and strategies in bioeconomy aligned with the objectives of the CESAM project. The session also featured Julia Miragall, sustainability consultant at ACCIÓ, who presented their services and support provided to companies.

The event also featured the participation of leading organisations such as Solagro, Inrae Occitanie, Clervents, Miraïa, Fibre Excellence, Biomanity and Green Spot Technologies, among others, allowing CESAM to strengthen its network and explore synergies in sustainable innovation.

During the afternoon, workshops were held on national and European funding opportunities, including programmes such as the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), with the participation of Nicolas Nguyen-The from Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation, as well as initiatives related to marine biological resources and green gases, areas of particular interest for the future development of the project.

On 15 April, CESAM took part in the secondment programme organised by AD’OCC, associate partner of the CESAM project, aimed at gaining first-hand insight into innovation support policies in the Occitanie region. The programme included institutional presentations, examples of sector-specific support in areas such as circular economy, health and power electronics, as well as a visit to La Cité and its business area.
